Welcome to St. Alban’s Catholic Primary School. St. Alban’s school exists to provide high quality education within a living Catholic Community which values and enables every child to reach his or her potential.
The school has a natural link with the three parishes of OLEM, St. Philip Howard and Sawston. This helps to promotes a good Catholic ethos and provides cohesion amongst families who come from all over the city.
OFSTED Report (2007) judged that our school had the ‘feel of a family’, underlining the fact that everyone looks out for one another and that respect is the key. The report said that there is a strong leadership in the school coupled with good management throughout the school – thus enabling staff to take a more active role in raising their teaching standards. It has been said that our children thrive on the high expectations that the school has for them – this is especially evident in both the Foundation Stage and the standards that pupils attain by the end of Year 6, particularly in Mathematics and English. St. Alban’s is a happy and popular school where children are loved and cared for, where they become very independent, confident and reliable young children as they experience many exciting opportunities ahead of them. They are at the centre of our thoughts and by listening and working with them we are offering an education which is fun, exciting and challenging.
We hope this website gives you a feel for what makes St. Alban’s unique, but I would encourage you to download Google Reader to receive updates on newsletters and children’s work from time to time, and also to contact us to arrange a visit if you would like to know more of our school.
